Hello, my name is Zeth, you may know me from my Linux blog, but I have joined O'ReillyGMT in order to bring the latest news about Python communities and events in the UK, including user groups and conferences.
First however, I would like to congratulate the LugRadio Team and their volunteers for a fantastic LugRadioLive2007 conference which ended yesterday. As a humble punter I enjoyed every minute of it; so a big thanks to everyone involved in organising it. For me LRL has become *the* Linux community conference in the UK and this year did not disappoint.
Despite different perspectives on open source software, Chris diBona (from Google) and Nat Friedman (from Novell) managed to kiss and make up, almost literally as they shared a passionate yet comic embrace. The image below shows Chris diBona on the main stage.

The venue was remarkable, including the Atrium, where I personally stayed to make the most of the unnaturally good weather:

One of the highlights was the lightning talks session; speakers were left in no doubt when their talk ended, a loud gong sounded when their alloted time was up!

There were many interesting exhibitors and stalls, including this handy bookstall from O'Reilly (shown below). I also got to try out MythTV and the GP2X game console, both of which I had read about but not yet tried 'in the flesh'.
Thanks to TevaD and 'the-loud-mouth-man' for the images. Further images can be found via Flickr.
